Facilities for Research on Electromagnetic Compatibility among Electric Equipment & Electronic Hardware, and on Marine Electromagnetic Environmental Safety

This complex of facilities makes it possible to:

• develop administrative and technical procedures for ship and marine equipment designers
• develop calculation procedures for:
  • electromagnetic fields in internal ship rooms
  • room screening considering variable screen shapes and arrangements
  • electric noise in connection and control cables, grounding circuits and other electronic hardware components
• examine electromagnetic compatibility of ship electronic systems and evaluate completeness and sufficiency of the chosen measures for ensuring their electromagnetic compatibility, to justify requirements to instrumentation layout
• establish scope and procedures for bench tests of instrumentation EMC parameters taking into account all kinds of noise within the entire relevant frequency range
