The Institute starts upgrading the towing tank.
The programme includes making a 27m extension and installing a
new high-speed automated towing carriage. A separate building
is erected to accommodate the cavitation tunnel, which has been
bought in Germany before WW1.

Researchers of the Model Basin, now the Naval Ship Research
Institute, together with experts from the Research Institute of Shipbuilding
& Marine Standards established in 1931 within the Sudotrest
('Ship Trust') organisation that managed all shipyards in the country
formulate proposals on the construction of a large complex of experimental
tanks and other test facilities for ship research.
