The Division conducts investigations
on noise and vibration reduction not only for ships and other marine
vehicles, but for railway and urban transport and various kinds of industrial
equipment as well.
The Marine & Industrial Acoustics
Division of the Krylov Shipbuilding Research Institute was established
in 1960, and nowadays it is one of the Russia's largest acoustic research
centres.
There are 17 Doctors (including 11 Professors
and 5 Esteemed Activist of Science of the Russian Federation) and 49
Masters of Technical Science successfully working at the Division. Among
the staff members, there are 5 Laureates of the State Prize and 3 Laureates
of the RF Government Prize.
Significant contributions to establishing
and expanding the Division were made by such distinguished scientists
as Doctors of Science, Professors L.Ya.Goutin, I.I.Klyukin, V.T.Liapounov,
V.I.Popkov, V.S.Ivanov, A.S.Nikiforov, G.A.Khoroshev.
The Division Offers:
Development of recommendations and performance of acoustic and
strength computations in support of design work on low-noise ships,
power plants, equipment, machinery, mechanisms and piping, including
for ventilation systems
Design, development and dynamic parameter measurements for efficient
vibration and noise insulators and dampers for ships, power plants
and various vehicles
Development of technical regulatory document packages for the
design of low-noise power plants, machinery and systems
Development and supply of versatile ultrasonic systems like for
metal and polymer welding of intricate-configuration details, surface
finishing of hard-alloy parts, etc.
Design, manufacture and supply of vibration sensors (accelerometers),
hydrophones and pre-amplifiers; metrological certification of vibration
transducers
Performance of torsiograhpy and strain measurements on marine
shafts, including certificates approved by the Russian Maritime
Register of Shipping
Design, manufacture and supply of customised gas turbine air
filtering systems
