The BALTSUDOPROEKT Bureau is the
eldest Russian ship design and engineering establishment.
The BALTSUDOPROEKT Central Design Bureau established in 1925
was in 1999 merged with the Krylov Shipbuilding Institute and became
its affiliate.During more than three-quarters of a century since its
foundation, the bureau produced about 170 designs that have served to
built over 2600 ships amounting to 11,000,000t of displacement.
Among those ships, there were such unique
designs as space tracking ships Kosmonavt Yuri Gagarin and Marshal
Nedelin, the world's first nuclear-powered ice-strengthened lighter/container
ship Sevmorput, Russia's largest Krym tankers of 150,000DWT,
Ro-Ro ships, ocean and sea rescue ships, firts in the country environment-friendly
Pobeda-class tankers, a great number of timber carriers, versatile
cargo ships, bulk carriers and a variety of naval auxiliaries.
All ships built to the Bureau's designs feature high seakeeping qualities
and service reliability. Many of them were delivered to foreign owners
in Germany, Greece, Norway, India, Poland, Romania, Yugoslavia and Cuba.
The Bureau has periodically employed consultants from among such famous
scientists and naval architects as A.N.Krylov, P.F.Papkovich, V.L.Pozdyunin,
Yu.A.Shimanskiy, F.A.Briks, G.E.Pavlenko and E.E.Papmel.
The Bureau has several times served as the basis for establishing new
enterprises of the national shipbuilding industry. Some of the leading
experts originally employed by the Bureau have later headed other engineering
bureaux or made successful careers in the Shipbuilding Ministry.
In 1990's, the Bureau has designed and
delivered workshop drawings for S.Kirov and Sochi Ro-Ro
vessels, the Captain Lus timber pallet carrier, the Amur general
cargo ship, the Viktor Dubrovsky product/chemical tanker, the
Astrakhan ice-going tanker and the Ishim supply tanker.
During 2000~2002, the Bureau made detailed
designs of an ice-capable tanker of about 70,000DWT and a 2600kW berthing
tug. They have also elaborated a number of pre-contract designs and
conceptual design studies for a variety of cargo ships, produced ship
upgrading and retrofitting design packages.
Today, ships designed by the Bureau
are constructed at six shipyards.
The Division Offers:
