NUMERICAL ANALYSIS OF SHIP SIGNATURES
The Numerical Simulation Centre of the Krylov Institute is engaged in the development and practical implementation of algorithms and software intended for computer-based simulation of ship signatures.
In the area of electromagnetic field (EMF) simulation the Krylov Institute offers:
- Analysis and optimisation of corrosion protection systems for ships, offshore platforms, marine and buried pipelines;
- Simulations of electric field, combined corrosion protection and electric signature control systems for naval ships;
- Calculation of electric grounding systems;
- Calculation of electric capacitance, inductance and screening factors for complex electrical engineering systems;
- Simulation of magnetic fields and degaussing systems for naval and commercial ships;
- Evaluation of electromagnetic compatibility for on-board electronic systems;
- Calculation of near- and far fields generated by ship antennas and feeders;
- Calculation of ship radar electromagnetic fields in near zone;
- Calculation of ship infra-red signatures;
- Comprehensive analysis of EMF levels in ship spaces in accordance with hygienic standards.
The Centre has developed original mathematical models and software which are now used for the benefit of customers. These tools are applied for engineering analysis of the EMF in realistic environments.
The simulation techniques take care of:
– actual complex geometry and topology of ship structures;
– resistance and voltage in internal metallic circuit;
– heterogeneity of environmental media.
